The Cecilian Bank is the Meade County Area Chamber of Commerce Business of the Month for June. Gary Chapman and his Brandenburg Branch staff areactive members of the Meade Chamber and constant supporters of Chamber initiatives. They regularly attend the networking luncheons, ribbon cuttings, sponsor our April luncheon yearly, and serve as board members for the chamber. The staff at The Cecilian Bank work to provide many services to the community outside of banking responsibilities.
Bank Manager, Gary Chapman, served on the Chamber Board of Directors for 6 years and currently Steven Barr serves as Treasurer for the Chamber Board. Meade County natives, Deanna Barr, Mona Jarboe, Melanie Hardesty, Jonathan Whelan, Lindsey Dowell and Branden Pace, all represent The Cecilian Bank with friendliness and professionalism. I appreciate the commitment bank employee, Barbara Edwards, has given me as a new chamber director over the past 2 years. Barbara has been instrumental in welcoming me to area chamber activities in the region and teaching me the ropes of area chamber’s best practices.
“One constant that has been a staple of the history of The Cecilian Bank – and this shall not change – is that the institution continues to be locally owned, operated and under the same name since its inception more than a century ago,” stated Mr. B.G. Owsley, Chairman of the Board. The bank has locations in 4 counties and has been in operation since 1903, originating in Cecilia, Kentucky.
Their level of support to this Chamber is a great asset to the success of the Chamber, and it is important for us to say thank you and recognize their commitment to our success. Their commitment to the City of Brandenburg with the purchase of land and the beautiful new banking facility has improved the image of the city and Meade County and has not gone unnoticed.
