Meade Activity Center will have a ground breaking tomorrow at 11:30 at the MAC. Snow and more snow have kept them from their shovels, but Aaron has assured me tomorrow they will shovel dirt or rather mud – even if it is done from the golf cart garage in a boat! Let’s all get ready and show our support of a very big time for the MAC.
They have also got the invitations ready to go out for the 2015 MAC Gala, scheduled for Friday April 24. The annual goal of the Gala is to raise capital for new facilities and to fund the MAC Financial Assistance program that will provide fitness and recreational opportunities for people of all ages, abilities, and incomes.
The event features Michael Johnson a four-time Olympic track and field gold medalist, nine-time World Champion and world record holder. He became known as the “Fastest Man in the World” in 1996, when completing the historic 200/400- meter Olympic double. He recorded the fastest time ever clocked by a human, running 23 mph enroute to his 200-meter world record performance of 19.32 seconds.
