The Meade Activity Center, Inc, (MAC) is a 501c3 non-profit organization focused on promoting healthy lifestyles, developing programming, and building a health and wellness center to serve the community. The MAC’s core strategy is to promote programming and events to create a shift in awareness in the community towards creating and living a healthier lifestyle.
Since 2009, the MAC has conducted programs and events to promote the mission of the project. Events such as community forums, 5K runs, triathlons, swim lessons, youth sports, and the MAC Matter’s Gala fundraiser have branded the organization as a serious, credible, and sustainable project. The Meade Activity Center has been supported in part by the Foundation for a Healthy Kentucky, the United Way, The First Tee, the USTA, and the Todd Wagner Foundation. In 2015, a state of the art fitness facility was completed that truly makes the MAC the hub of wellness and recreation in Meade, Breckinridge and surrounding counties.
The MAC is staffed by Executive Director Aaron Greenwell and his team: Vince Bradley – Facilities Superintendent, Gail Ferguson – Administrative Coordinator, Mike Greenwell – Asst. Facility Superintendent, Betsy Renyer – Front Desk and Golf Shop Coordinator, Adam Stowe – Director of Summer Camps and Afterschool Programs. “Attending Chamber events, supporting our programs and hosting the Chamber 2 person Golf Scramble are just a few reasons why they are a great partner when promoting and showcasing what we offer in our county and city,” stated Carole Logsdon, Chamber Director.
Their level of support and commitment to the Chamber is a great asset, and it is important for us to say thank you and recognize their commitment to our success. Their commitment to the City of Brandenburg and Meade County has not gone unnoticed.
