Good Morning Brandenburg’s Breakfast introduced chamber staff and members to a group of local and area experts on early childhood development. Meade County Community Early Childhood Council Chairperson Nancy Mitcham, of Meade County Schools, Sandy Maldonado of Child Care Aware, and others, shared the obstacles and the joys found in preparing children to be successful in school.
The council provides training sessions that support childcare providers, parents and educators, organize community literacy events, and distributes educational resources to preschoolers and their families. Margaret Benham and the Meade County Public Library are part of the council and are involved with many preschool reading activities for children. You are invited to lend your voice and get involved with making a difference in the lives of Meade County’s children and families.
