Please put the Thursday, June 19 Chamber Luncheon on your calendar. We will be at the K of C Hall on 1200 High Street. Hodgenville’s Lincoln Museum Director, Iris LaRue, will be our guest speaker. For forty years LaRue County’s October Lincoln Days Celebration filled the streets of Hodgenville. Iris LaRue has led the way for the museum and festival’s success, her visit with the chamber should be filled with ideas for the possibility of planning our own history museum in our county.
The Lincoln Museum’s exhibits are a historically accurate collection of wax figures depicting scenes from the life of Abraham Lincoln. In addition to the main exhibits, the museum features a variety of exhibits, including rare newspaper clippings, campaign posters, and Lincoln memorabilia. The Lincoln art gallery is filled with contemporary paintings, drawings, and other artworks related to the Lincoln era.
