The Meade County Area Chamber of Commerce is accepting applications for the position of an Executive Director.
Chief Executive Officer of the Chamber of Commerce and Tourism whose main function is to perform as the liaison for all aspects of commerce and tourism in the county while also acting as an information conduit for both community and Chamber members. The Executive Director is responsible for the implementation of all policies and directions brought forth by the Board of Directors. Additionally, the Executive Director is responsible for reporting activity aimed at meeting any annual goals and objectives, overseeing organizational finances, as well as any and all administrative management activities needed to be conducted on a day-to-day basis.
Typically, the Executive Director answers to the President of the Board but may also receive guidance from the other board members.
-Solicit new members and assist new business owners, providing them with appropriate information as
-Coordinate and attend all board meetings and monthly luncheons.
-Monitor by-laws and provide recommended changes to the board.
-Develop and implement Chamber projects and programs with the assistance of the Board of Directors.
-Attend training seminars and out of town meetings in support of Chamber and tourism business.
-Act in a public relations capacity for the county.
-Work with community leaders to identify projects beneficial to the county.
-Work with area organizations in planning and scheduling events, programs, and projects in support of
the Chamber and tourism.
-Excellent oral and written communication ability.
-Proficiency in the use of online and social media technology and software programs including those
within the Microsoft Office suite to include Access and Publisher.
