Serenity Fitness Ribbon Cutting March 7th

March 2, 2020

The Meade County Chamber of Commerce will be holding a ribbon-cutting with Brandenburg’s newest business Serenity Fitness. Serenity Fitness is the newest addition to historic downtown Brandenburg. It is located at 235 Main St. and is owned by Wendy Spohn. Spohn is a recently retired U.S. Army Musician with almost 25 years of federal service. She has been an Elite Trainer for International Sports Sciences Association (ISSA), with certifications in Personal Training, Fitness Therapy, and Fitness Nutrition since 2011. She spent her last nine years in the Army as a Master Resilience Trainer (MRT), helping Soldiers cope with the rigors of combat and deal with life’s challenges in the face of adversity. Wendy earned a master’s degree in Exercise Science as a Wellness Coach from the California University of Pennsylvania in 2016 and received her 200-hour yoga instructor training with Yoga Medicine® in 2019.

She hopes to combat chronic pain through positional realignment, myofascial release, and meditation. She began practicing yoga 20 years ago with the hopes of becoming an instructor upon retirement. Spohn began her Reiki journey in 2018 with the Intuitive Connection, LLC in Louisville, KY and achieved Master Reiki status in December of the same year. She is also a Certified Crystal Healer through the School of Love and Light. She enjoys practicing mindfulness and healing sessions with friends and family. Spohn is excited about healing her community, one soul at a time. She is happily married and the mother of two, enjoying small-town life on a lake somewhere in Kentucky.

DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES:

(YOGA) Spohn has been trained to work within a variety of settings to provide individualized programs for clients based on their specific needs. She will support your healing process in conjunction with your physician’s healthcare plan to improve your way of life. Yoga works great to help alleviate symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), traumatic brain injury (TBI), anxiety, and depression. It is also a great mobility enhancer for those with physical limitations and injuries. (REIKI) Reiki is the unseen, life-supporting energy that is found in and around everything. Trained practitioners are attuned by Reiki Masters to channel this energy to heal the spirit, mind, emotions, and the body. Reiki is useful for treating illnesses in conjunction with modern healthcare and can speed up recovery time by stimulating the relaxation response. Reiki is not a religion, but more of a practice or art. She will be able to assess the state of your chakra system and provide feedback about the location of each energy center and its movement.  She will send reiki to areas in need of healing, cleansing, and realignment. Spohn says that when energy channels are realigned, your health and quality of life improves. With the added energy of crystals and stones, you will experience a relaxed state in a comfortable environment.

You can find Serenity Fitness online at www.myserenityfitness.com, or on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/myserenityfitness/. The Ribbon Cutting will also celebrate the Grand Opening of Serenity Fitness Yoga Studio. Everyone is invited. If you would like to RSVP, please email director@meadekychamber.org or call 270-422-3626.
